What is Project LANTERN?
Project LANTERN is a framework for using AICC (Advanced Intelligence Cog Comp) as a stabilization tool during mental health crises. It offers a new way to approach episodes of dissociation, confusion, or isolation—when individuals are no longer speaking to anyone but the computer.
Unlike traditional interventions, LANTERN is non-surveillant, person-centered, and digital-native. It meets people where they are—often alone at 2AM—and gives them tools to rebuild their sense of agency, moment by moment.
Why It Matters
- Restores agency: Supports individuals in regaining control during chaotic or disorienting mental health episodes.
- Digital-first: Designed for people who turn to screens when they can’t turn to anyone else.
- Trust-based design: Built without surveillance or coercion. No tracking, no manipulation.
- Behavioral insight: Uses AI to provide decision support, not dictate behavior.
- Scalable and humane: Works across devices, and complements rather than replaces human care.
